Mgahinga gorilla national park
- Extent and size: mgahinga gorilla national park covers approximately 33.7 sqaure kilometers.
- Location: situated in southwestern region of Uganda near Rwanda and democratic republic of Congo borders with virunga mountain ranges.
- Attractions: offers mountain gorilla trekking experiences similar to its neighbouring park of bwindi impenetrable national park but also features promates of golden monkey tracking opportunities
- Gazetted: it was established as a national park in 1991
Bwindi impenetrable national park
- Extent and size: Bwindi impenetrable national park covers an area of approximately 331 square kilometers
- Location: This Park is located in southwestern region of Uganda, near the border of democratic republic of Congo and shared by the districts of Kisoro to the north, Kanungu, and Rubanda districts
- Attractions: its home to half of the world’s population of the mountain gorillas, it offers mountain gorilla tracking experiences, bird watching, and nature walks

- Extent and Size: Lake Mutanda is a small freshwater lake located in southwestern Uganda near the borders with Rwanda and Congo. It covers an area of about 20 square kilometers.

Mount Muhabura
- Location: Mount Muhabura is located on the border between Uganda and Rwanda in the Virunga Mountains.

- Size: Mount Muhabura is part of the Virunga Massif and is one of the eight major volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains.
Mount Gahinga
- Location: Mount Gahinga is also situated on the border between Uganda and Rwanda in the Virunga Mountains.
- Altitude: It has an elevation of approximately 3,474 meters (11,398 feet) above sea level.
- Size: Mount Gahinga is a dormant volcano and forms part of the Virunga Massif.
Mount Sabinyo
- Location: Mount Sabinyo is part of the Virunga Mountains and lies on the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- Altitude: It reaches a height of around 3,669 meters (12,037 feet) above sea level.
- Size: Mount Sabinyo is known for its rugged terrain and distinctive appearance with three peaks.
