We are establishing and dedicated to grow muhabura cultural experience and craft Centre (mcecc) as a community-based tourism initiative operating around the tourism destination of mgahinga gorilla national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park and extended partnerships with communities of volcanoes national park in Rwanda that Neighbours us for the following

To empower and involve the local people in responsible community tourism opportunities as viable means for social economic transformation that leads to poverty alleviation, community development in regard to cultural heritage and environment conservation while practicing fair trade and shared value for the benefit of communities around Mgahinga gorilla national park and Bwindi impenetrable national parks in kisoro district

To become a leading responsible community tourism initiative that fosters community development that contributes to the local people’s social economic transformation in regards inclusive economy and environmental and wildlife conservation
Our objectives for (mcecc)
Job creation: ecotourism is a viable industry with a wide local touch that does not only end with visit conservation area but also partly with local people and cultures, so our project aims to use the approach as a viable means to create job opportunities for the local people in the communities’ neighboring these areas as artisans, tour guides, farmers and beekeepers
Community empowerment: our initiative aims to empower the local communities by providing them with training opportunities, resources and market access to showcase their traditional crafts, cultural practices, so as generate income that will help them have a sustainable means of livelihood, improve Standards of living and reduce household poverty with the villages and communities
Environmental conservation: the project intends to contribute on wildlife and environmental conservation through creating alternative means of livelihood for people who would engage in illegal activities such as burning charcoal and cutting firewood for sale, wildlife poaching and trafficking are empowered in community tourism productions and activities thus reducing their threat to wildlife
cultural Exhange: we are promoting muhabura cultural experience and craft Centre so as attract tourists who would engage with the local people as a form of cultural Exhange and international relations due to local interactions of visitors and local people within the community
Sustainable and responsible tourism practices: the committed to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices that benefit both the environment and the local communities by offering authentic cultural experiences, supporting fair trade principles, and investing back into community projects as a long term social economic development option for the rural areas around these national parks
To promote the health conservation of the mountain gorillas through creating economic options for people who would involve in the illegal activities like hunting and killing of wild animals etc…
